Alk mixture

How long is the alk mixture (with baking soda) good for if kept in an open container? I'm trying to bring up my alk by having it drip into the sump from an open container. Want to make sure that it does not degrade by the time it finishes dripping.

ric i make up a 15g tub of it and use it through my ato, which takes 10 days to go through that amount, as long as it isnt disturbed it will form a skin on top of water blocking the oxygen
