Alk????

First of all just let me say this ALK %#*T is %#*##*ng killing me.
My tank reads 12 which I believe is high. So I am trying to get it down with water changes.
But how can I get it down if the new reef crystal water for the change is @ 16!!!!!!
SG is 1.024
PH 8.2
ALK 16!!!!!

What's your Ca? That will determine if what/if you should do anything. 12 isn't that high.

What is considered high for Alk.?

Switch to ESV salt, u won't regret it. You can fine tune the cal and alk.

i'd stop dosing alk until it gets down. keep up with the dosing of CA to keep up with the amount that your corals use daily. Test again in a week. I had this issue when I first started dosing.
