Plate Coral

I weakened...

I wanted a soft only tank... and got talked into an LPS .. Plate Coral.

The thing is beautiful and have Placed it well clear of my soft guys and in the sand bed.

Is it possible to frag these things? I don't see how you could, or how they multiply naturally.

LPS are IMO the most difficult to frag, example a brain coral. Cant remember how a plate coral looks like.

Mine has longer tentacles... they have a ridged stony plate at the bottom/center.

If you frag a LPS with a sole polyp, like a plate coral, you will most likely ended up with two dead halves, or one half-sized coral instead of two health ones.

They can reproduce . tiny plate corals can pop right out of them. Even when the coral has apparently died, so dont throw out the skeleton if you ever lose one.
