I hope this is more of a head scratcher then a silly question,but...
Anyone have experience in placing an aussie acan on it's side rater than facing directly up at the sun, I mean lights.I ask because I have a green frag wedged into the rocks on its side. It does not seem that happy. It is in a "perfect " place, I was hoping to leave it there.

yes, I agree. I am going to move it. I was really wondering though if their natual position in the ocean is always facing up towards the sun, like plants.
It seems that all the pics that you see online are facing up.

hm, well one of my frags has babies growing up the sides, and I have one of those sides usually facing a rock.
I've noticed that they are still 'happy' and growing new babies on that side but their coloration is not as intense as all the other sides. So, I just rotate it.
When I got the frag it was glued to a plastic bottlecap. I can't get the thing off, but once I do I'll attach it to a rock and grow down and then flat.
So...yea...is that helpful?
