red brain coral Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a red open brain coral for about 4 months now and the past few days i started to see some bone showing on the top of it. Can anyone help. I have 2 150w metal halides and VHOs. The brain is in direct light. Should it be under an overhang? Some people say to feed it, some people say no it gets it food from light. I have not seen it extend any tentacles for a long time now.

mysis, krill ect.. It eats at night. But it may take food during the day if offered often when the lights are on. Unfortunatly who ever told u all it needs is light was wrong

My Red Brain has eaten two Cardinals. I caught him eating one the other day. Also has eaten a few snails.
