Was thinking of doing a DIY LED...

Can experienced DIY'ers give me tips on how to go about my way or perhaps link a thread if you made a DIY LED thread? I'd love to see more pictures of what other aquarists have done.

I would not us 80 deg optics the spread is very bad and you will lose par to, go with 65 deg optices instead. What size tank is this going on you might not need optics at all . And what are you keeping.

Well for now, probably gonna replace my Panorama LED's by ecoxotic in my 20L. I'd like to have control over light intensity and color of the tank. As for keeping specimens, I'd like to be able to keep at least 1 maxima/crocea clam on the sand or a coral that has a high light requirement like birdsnest coral.

Is the arrangement and equipment decent? I was thinking of XP-L's but might be overkill.

The setup you have is fine XPG and XPE are great . You dont need optices in that 20l . Optice if for deep tank like 24 to 30 inch deep tank
