Has anybody had any electrical issues running multiple eln-60-48 drivers? Breakers popping, wires running hot? I'm reading that this might be an issue of you run a number of them.
I ran 5 for about 6 months with no problem. Swapped them out for (2) Meanwell HLGs (parallel runs) for simplicity. Don't keep them enclosed though... how many are you running?
I'm just in the planning stage and would be running six. Which HLGs are you running, how many strings, how many leds in each string? Did you balance the strings and run fuses?
HLG-120H-36B - Neutral Whites
HLG-185H-48B - Royal Blues
Will have to dig into my notes to recall how many diodes per string. Yes, balanced amount of diodes per string, no fuses. If I remember correctly, they're not running at full 1A, more 700-800mA -- XP-E Blues / XP-G Whites.
Inventronics also makes a nice driver but I wasn't able to find availability for my requirement. Some say they're superior to the HLGs due to higher PFC ratings (starting to get beyond my grasp of electronics). You might be able to find them under the Thomas Research label in the US, but they're just rebadged Inventronics.
Yep. I was dimming 5 arrays of 13 LEDs with the ELNs, and it just got a bit nutty controlling so many strings. So I started looking into Inventronics/Thomas Research, which comes highly recommended by EvilC66. But alas, I couldn't find stock anywhere. Check PowerGate LLC if you looking for HLGs. G'luck!
By balanced I mean did you factor in variations in forward voltage? I understand that in a parallel configuration there are risks of overdriving a string in the event of a LED failure as a result of these differences.
