i have been going back and for the past couple of months on whether to upgrade to a sump system in order to increase water volume, hide hardware, and all the other benefits that you get with a sump. i am doing everything in my power to avoid doing a sump. i've decided to build a custom rock wall that would wrap around two sides of my tank. Since my filter is hang on, i will need to create some sort of opening to allow for the water to flow into it and also hide the main body of the filter that hangs in the tank. I will also need to hide my heater as well behind the wall. could anyone please chime in on how i may be able to do this.

i found this tutorial online which seems pretty successful, however, i will have to change some things in order to account for the equipment that will be concealed behind the wall.

does anyone have suggestions that might help me get this done best?

Thanks,

Josh

You have to make sure the foam is fish safe and uv safe
I made my back wall with dry live rock and pond foam
Also u should ge silicone 1 and glue it to the back of the tank so u dont get a build up behind it
