This pic is accurate.
I was thinking you could drill a hole in the support beam. So the wire could be run along the inside top if stand, and then plug into lights from inside stand and through support beam. Or, use two differet supports on 1 of the sides, so the gap inbetween the two pieces allows for the power/data cords to fit through.

so the wires go in on the left side of the light , [ if your looking stright on at the front of the tank....] also the imputs for wires are center of light on the left side?

They are in the center...and it is the left side on that tank, but the lights can be flipped so either side is fine.

got some work done today, I gave to a 1 1/2 on the one side for the wiring, and also did a custom cup holder fo when your feeding!

READY FOR STAIN & POLY!! I'm really happy on how they came out! Finally got a chance to get them together tonight...WORK SUCKS!! I rather be playing with wood

Here's a few better pictures of the canopies semi - finished . I also tried to tie them in to the existing cabinets...I noticed there was a profile on the front trim of them and tried to match it the best i could....Think it will look pretty hot when it's all done!

still have alot to learn but Thanks!! My new neighbor "Ted" in texas is a master craftsman...he makes fine furniture...I saw his workshop.... AWESOME!! Will be hanging out with him and eating up everything I can learn...lol

Just 1 thing. I think i see a hole for the power cord, but that is not big enough for both cords to fit through (or so it looks).

that's not a hole for the power cord...That's a pocket joint to piece the top together, I didn't drill a hole, I will leave that for you, you should have plenty of room where I cut out the extra 1 1/2 in on the top.
