Alright so, like the title states I have a wooden canopy on my 30 gallon tank, I currently have an MH fixture, and decided to go led. The top piece of my hood is (looking down with hood closed) about 20.5 in horizontal and 19.5 vertical, about 3/4 in. thick. Now my MH is bolted on directly in the middle with about 8.5 inches between the two bolts. I was wondering what I can do to "mount" not hang em off the hood, if possible I'd like to utilize the two bolts that will already be there from the MH fixture. The led fixture is roughly 12.5 inches by 5.5 inches. and about 1.5 to 2 thick. The fan sits on top of the fixture so it would be touching the wood and I feel like that would affect the performance of the fan eventually the fixture, I did however setup a fan on the exhaust side of my canopy due to the heat from the MH fixture, it works quite well but I'd rather not use as much due to evaporation issues and generally power. So, considering the fan on the led fixture and mounting how would you guys go about this??
I thought about using four corner brackets, like L-shaped brackets of some sort for the "hanging" effect but have the brackets latch themselves onto something like a mounting rail that i could drill or bolt onto the hood, so when attached its sturdy and not going to go anywhere but up and down with the hood. I have no clue how to start and tomorrow after work at home depot Im probably going to say this whole story, and give up for that day again. lol Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction both on MR and at Home Depot. lol I have attached couple photos for better reference thanks again guys
