Sump Repair

Hi MR looking for some advice here, recently bought a tank which came with an acrylic sump, however two of the baffles had been ripped off and has formed jagged edges of acrylic, it juts in and out so I'm concerned that the structure of the tank is compromised. There is also a small crack on the bottom because of this. I leak checked and it seems to still be holding water. I've started to sand the jagged edges down but am scared that the force exerted by me sanding might create smaller cracks in the depressions. Any ideas on what I can do to revive this sump? I'd hate to toss it...
