Hello,

I'm thinking about building a piece of furniture (never attempted this before), and was wondering the best way to create a strong wood joint. Based on the research I did, it seems pocket holes are the way to go?

What's the best way to do this without splitting the wood?

Thank you in advance!

Jay

There is a tool called something jig (sold at lowes) that was very good when i was uilding my stand with pocket holes. It takes all the guessowrk out and gives you perfect results every time

thats the link to their jr model, but there is also a full model which includes other goodies as well. I had the jr and was happy.
good luck.
Also use wood glue prior to fastening the screws and make sure everything is attached well

+1 - A Kreg Jig is the best way to seat pocket screws.
