measuring for glass baffles

Im sure this can go in the beginners section as well, but I am not well rounded in taking precise measurements.

I have a 125 gallon (72 1/2 x 18 1/2 x 23 3/8)
that I am making into a sump. I am trying to make a cut list can someone help me out? For example, if the outside measurement is 18 1/2, what should I cut the baffle to be?

Just don't want to waste hundreds on glass because I can't measure lol

I sent him a message. To be clear, I'm not asking how I should divide the sump and section it, rather the measuring and cut list to bring to a glass shop.

tank width 18 1/2 minus glass thickness, minus an extra 1/16 will give you the width of baffle for height determine the depth that your skimmer requires.

Basically it's exactly what edd suggested. I had to figure out how I wanted my sump to look like and what my needs were. Got my baffles cut, bought my aquarium silicone and boom back in business. Does t take long. Just be patient. Good luck

Measure inside to inside then take a 1/4 in off. Bevel the 2 corners where the glass meets the silicone and your done

can anyone tell me what the glass thickness for a 125 is?

the problem i am having with measuring the inside of the tank is that I cannot tell if it is 17 1/2 or 17 1/2 plus 1/4. Is this enough of a difference to mess up the cuts?

Maka a cardboard template , then measure that

Your glass has to be either 3/8ths or half inch on a 125

it all worked out. I had them cut at 17 3/8ths now it's time to silicon

A trick i read...i think from vio...use some flex tubing connected to your silicon to get down in between the baffles and control the output from top to bottom.
