I ran across yet another speed bump on the road to the 120 upgrade. I need to drill two holes for 7" filter socks in a sheet of acrylic 17 1/2" X 10". It needs to hold the weight of the socks so I was thinking 1/4" acrylic.

What tools would I need to make accurate cuts? Better yet, anyone on here could do it for me for some frags or cash? (being hopeful)

Here is a picture to get the idea of what I am doing. (not my picture)

Use a side cutting bit. Make a jig out of a piece of wood. Use a nail in the middle and a loop of string as a guide. Then use the jig to guide you cutting the acrylic. Or you could do it straight on the acrylic. Just drill a hole in center to put a nail or screw.

What about having it laser cut? I had a 24"x6" piece of 1/4" acrylic with three 4" holes laser cut and the whole thing, including the acrylic, was $35 at canal plastics here in the city. The cuts are perfect!
