Just built the algae scrubber just waiting for my brother to give me PVC glue here is a picture

Check for a fabric store don't go to homedepot or lowes looked for hours and all the idiot workers don't no anything

Looking to build one myself. What size tank will you install it on ?

It's 180 total volume about 220

What size mesh & how much flow will you be using?

The way I'm doing it is right on top of my sump my middle chamber is going to hold it and I'm going to do it as long as I can and right over the water level of the sump

The flow I'm going to do it slow like a slow waterfall but the way I did it water wasn't flowing at all so I'm changing it up today

I read that the bottom of the mesh should be submerged in the water a few inches to reduce noise. What do you need to redo? Would a larger pump fix the issue.

I've seen algae scrubbers in a separate tank that a pump feeds it but u don't need all that extra money and noise from the pump and I put a t from the return pipe and no water was flowing so I'm going to do it another way I'm actually a plumber so I know a better way

That was the setup now u see where there's 2 elbows I'm taking them out putting one elbow then a t after that everything will have flow and I can controle it with my ball value

i made one for my 180 it works great keeps all my levels down one word of advice it happen to me make sure you made the slit in the pvc fat enough so theres space between the pvc and the mesh mines built up salt and then started squirting alittle stream sideways

Ya I have space I could fit another mesh in there and do you still use a skimmer or you took it out?

It is called plastic canvas. Used to Yarn and needle art. Any craft store should have it.(michaels, Joanns, etc)
