Hey guys,

I have an eShopps sump (the RS75), and it has a little lip glued to the baffle located in the return pump section.
This is used to maintain the sponge in place when in use, but I am not using said sponge, and I want to put two small reactors (the Innovative Marine ones) in the space between the baffles.
(not even talking about the scratches on my hands when I am putting them down there to get something that might have fallen into that space)

Problem is, the lip is just big enough that I cannot have the reactors pump deep enough for my taste.

So here is my question: what is the best/safest way to remove the lip without damaging the pump? An important thing to know is that the lip is smaller than the width of the sump, so it is glued only by its longest slide.

So Dremmel, hacksaw, ... ?

Thank you,

Geraud

Id try a dremmel first,

but a good way to cut acrylic is with hot knife / metal scraper (such as wood carving tools).

Just heat it under the stove top flame and try and pry between the two plastics. Try the knife, like you would be slicing between them.

Thank you, I might go with the hot knife since there is not much room with the dremmel unless I use a vertical cutting tools, and getting straight lines with that would be a bit of a mess. fun times! I wish I had removed that thing right when I got the sump.
