hey guys,
i need to make a seperate unit refugium to attach to my existing sump. roughly about 15" x 9" x 18" High. idea is to put a pump in my sump connecting to the fuge and have it overflow back into the sump thru pvc.
any ideas on where i can get acrylic and is regular GE bath silicon ok to use?
or is there someplace i dont know about have such a thing ready?
thanks.

as long as the silicone does not say mold resistant or something along those lines, you are ok.

i know ebay has tons of refugiums. some you have to put together others you don't. i don't know if they come w/ weldon but that is critical if you want to assemble an acrylic fuge.

15" x 9" x 18" High is definetly not goin to be held by silicon as an external tank -=) thats around a 15 gallons size?
and if ur plannin to build it with acrylic and use it as an external object to be 100% water tight u will neeed very nice clean cuts to build a nice unleaking tank

i say look for a sump pro that would help u out that owns a nice table saw, router, clamps on the wtb -=)

its not that hard but on my 1st attemp the seams weren't that great but if ur a hands on guys i guess u'd just have fun doin it even in the end ur coughin out more money for acrylic sheets and canal plastic carrys weld-on that comes in differnt grades for sealing and for coverin up gaps

good luck!
