Overflow Installation

I am installing my first bulkhead overflow on my new tank and have a question about the gasket installation. I had a custom tank built and I had the back painted. I bought schedule 80 bulkheads from BRS and got extra gaskets so I can sandwich the glass. However, when they painted the back, they painted right up to the edges of the through-holes. I'm wondering if I should scrape the paint that would be covered by the gaskets on the outside of the glass. I'm hoping I don't have to, since the stand is pushed up against a wall and I'd literally have to stand on my head to scrape them all around. Opinions?

Shouldn't have to that's what the gaskets are for to create a water tight seal just my two cents

I have no idea what kind of paint they used on the back--could be porous.

you can't go wrong with scraping the paint off, you would not want to get a leak because of a little paint. just my 2 cents worth

If your sandwiching the glass with 2 gaskets I wouldn't worry about scraping the paint.
