Finishing DIY Hood

Should I treat the inside of the wooden hood I am building? Stain, polyurethane, paint, formica? Is it OK to leave the wood?

Wouldn't hurt it =0) A little poly to keep the moisture out of the wood. If its properly vented should be ok but every little but helps with mold/mildew in the dark corners.

a flat white paint is best on the inside

not speaking from experiance here.. just a though

wouldn't a glossy white finish be a little better to act as , not much but still, a "reflector" instead of just absorbing or diffusing the light:scratchch

flat white reflects better than glossy.

i think a latex designed for bathroom or house exteriors would be the best bet

i'm painting the inside of my canopy in 2 weeks. will prime and then use a flat mildew resistent white for the iside of the canopy

i treated mine with polyurethane,oil base paint,then another coat of polyurethane. prevents moisture n bending.
