Overdriving 36" fluorescent

I would like to get a ballast to boost output but don't want to spring $$$ for an Icecap. Anybody done this?

reef central has several threads concerning this.you can use an electronic ballast from home depot and wire them to overdive you bulbs.I use an icecap but will add two more bulbs using this method.check reefcentral and you find plenty of info on this
