DIY MH question

I recently ordered a Icecap 175 ballast and 175 10k bulb from ocean encounter. My question is concerning the mogul socket and mounting bracket. Can I pick these up at HD? Do they sell "metal halide sockets" or are they called something differnt? As for reflectors, any good ideas for DIY reflectors? Are there any disadvantages to not having a reflector? Will the heat be an issue on a wooden canopy?

Sorry for all these questions, but as I'm sure you can guess, I am new with metal halides. Thanks for all advice.

I have not seen mogul bases at Lowes or HD. You are better off buying them from an electrical supply or online. Here is something you might think about: HelloLights has reflectors that look like Spiderlight reflectors for only about $28 (these include the mogul base which you could also buy separately for around $10). By the time you buy the mogul sockets, material, etc. and go through the building process you will probably spend more than $28. They also have a $10 off e-coupon.
