OK i was gonna do 6 flourescent bulbs over my 230 FOWLR but I figured it would cost me about $170. I started thinking that if I could get a two 150 watt MH setup for under $300 I would go with that just for the nice look of the halides. I am light-retarted though. I don't even know what a ballast is lolol. So can someone guide me step by step as to how I could have two 150 watt MH over my tank for under $300. If possible of course. Thanx!

A ballast just converts the electrisity come form your socket to another form to light the bulb not really sure exactly but i would like to know also. But if you did put halides on it teh necessitys you would need would be a ballast a socket and a bulb usually any online or LFS that sells halides will b e able to help you put it together. YOu would also have to buy or make a hood for them. I hope this helps a little.

My tank is in ther wall so I was going to hang the fixture. Wasn't gonna make a hood.
