I am thinking of removing the bio-balls from my trickle filter and replacing them with layers of the various Seachem products such as Matrix,De nitrate,Purigen Phosguard. Basically turning my filter into a large canister.

Any thoughts on this or experience would be gladly appreciated.

Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year from a very hot and dry Australia.

what do you keep in the tank? do you have a good skimmer? In my opinion if you run mostly corals of any kind and not a extreamly large stock of fish i would remove the bioballs. As long as you have a good skimmer.
