Hey guys.

I'm intersted in building or paying someone to build me a sump out of a 40 gallon breeder tank. This will be used under my 120. When I had the tank setup last year, I used an Amiracle Wet/Dry as my sump but do to evaporation I found myself topping off water every few days. The reason was because the Amiracle didn't hold a significant amount of water hence the need for a larger sump.

Any suggestions?

that will be a nice size for a sump.
you should be topping off your water everyday. if you don't there will be too much fluctuation in the SG level. that's one thing that should be rock solid with no change at all perceptible to the creatures in the tank.
Look into getting a auto top off system, it will make life so much easier in caring for the tank.

Do you have plans for how you want the sump setup? Also, do you want acrylic baffles or glass? And what components are you running?

Honestly, it would be a bare bones sump. I literally want one section where the what enter (maybe drips over bio balls), second section for my skimmer (aquamedic turboflotor multi) and my heater. Lastly a section for my return pump (mag 9.5).

As far as the baffles are concern, I really don't ever care. Whichever is more cost effective.
