You asked us to post our modifications for the class. I'm doing so.

I've added an O-ring as per the other thread. In addition, I've added a stainless steel pressure guage and a CO2 vent system to the top. Lastly, I've added water and CO2 flowmeters.

I'll post pictures once I'm done with it. Yes, it may be overkill but it was fun.

I wonder about that CO2 vent. What would stop water from coming out of it?

It's a float valve. It is really overkill in my opinion. If CO2 accumulates too much in the reactor tube, it causes the water level to drop. If the water level drops beyond a certain point, the float valve opens and vents the excess CO2.

This vent is only useful in the case that the effluent tube becomes clogged or it is set too low with the CO2 input set too high.

I copied it off of the MTC calcium reactor.
