One of my first threads on this forum, so be nice!
Well, trouble does not usually come singlely, and I have a two issues this week.
1, when moving my external Mag pump around (for my AquaC RemoraPro), I decided to turn the PVC fitting on the pump head a little. Afterward, I have problem priming the pump. (The pump is mounted outside the sump to keep down the heat, and needed to be primed after being serviced). Well, not realize what cause it to hold the siphon when priming, I used a different powerhead to push the water in the plumbing. That did the trick, but then I realized that the water is dripping because I cracked the pump head! That was Monday
2, when installing new plumbling in my setup, I decided to use some old vinyl tubing from one of my old fish tank. It is pretty tight behind the tank, so I yanked the tubing a little to make it to reach to a fitting. Well, I guess I yanked it too hard, and I either cracked the overflow chamber's bottom or loosen the bulkhead, since the water started to flow down the *outside* of the pipe to the sump. It made a big mess under my 110 gal tank. I shut down some of the service of the tank (no circulation, no ca rxtor), and hope that I can get it fixed before it affect the critters. That was Tuesday
Lesson:
Be gentle on plastic parts.
Don't use old vinyl tubing (hardened from contact with saltwater after the softener/plastizier they used on the plastic get washed off or dissipated)
