I'm still in the planning stages for my 80 gallon reef tank. Since it will be located on the wall next to the garage, I was going to run the pipes through the wall as well as hood venting. I was thinking of using a pair of 55 gallon water barrel drums inline to add some water stability. Has anyone ever used them before? I would think that they are saltwater safe. Their purpose wouldn't be to house any equipment, I'd still have another area for that, I just thought it would be a good way to easily increase water volume. Maybe I'd even add 4 of them . The 80 gallon display tank would then have an effective volume of over 300 gallons.
