hang-on calcium reactor

know of anyone who's built one? i have a 60 gallon reef and im sick of dosing with b-ionic and id like to use the cheaper kalk and boost my calcium levels even more but its not plummed for a sump and since i live on the second floor of an apartment complex flooding isnt exactly a risk id like to take. i use a hang-on cpr back pak for a skimmer, has anyone built a hang-on calcium reactor?

It sounds pretty easy. Are you looking for sexy acrylic, or are you looking for ghetto pvc? (Pvc would be cheaper to experiment with.)

I'm building a pvc phosguard reactor later today. I'll mock up a reactor for you. see what you think.

well wouldnt you need to use acrylic to meter out the bubble rate?

Be careful what you are asking about. You said you want to dose Kalk. Kalk does not need CO2, CO2 is used in a calcium reactor. Kalk is used in a Kalk reactor. They are very different.

It would be relatively easy to make a Kalkreactor out of PVC. Look at commercially available designs and make it hang on the back.

Yeah, I guess I should have asked you to specify. Kalk would be simpler.

I built a hang on media reactor for about $20. I used an add-on water filter container and it's gonna rock. Still haven't gotten around to putting it to use though.

A hang on kalk reactor could be pretty easy if you already have a dosing pump.

sorry i was a moron and didnt know the difference between dosing kalk and using a calcium reactor until just recently. (like saturday). what im looking for is a hang on calcium reactor. is that possible?
