I'v got a Tetratec 300 and I don't like the short spouts for the returns. I think they sit too high and I'm having lots of issues with salt due to splashing.
I'm thinking of making some kind of spraybar to mount along the back of the tank or maybe just extending them down a bit into the tank so I still have some strong water flow (25gal High tank..no corals)
Would it be best to go with a spraybar on one return and extend the surge return a bit so it's underwater?
I'm thinking the spraybar might be better as I could angle the flow at a 45 angel towards the back glass..cutting down on both splash and still disrupting the surface enough.

I'm fairly new to this so any advice is very appreciated!!

Pretty much anything that will do the job, just make sure it does not make too much back pressure on the unit.
