BTW, here's a pic of a kalkreactor I made out of PVC I got locally and some acrylic tubing. In rhetrospect you could go without the clear tubing and just use PVC for the body. The only thing I've changed on this reactor since this pic was to swap out those little white push-on style hose fittings at the input (lower left) and output (top of unit) for JG Speed Fittings.
I wanted to use standard 1/4" OD polyethylene (plastic) tubing (the stuff on RO units) instead of the soft vinyl stuff (which is generally only available in clear and becomes a maintenance headache). The JG fittings work with the 1/4" OD plastic line, thus the reason for the change.
BTW, standard 1/4" OD polyethylene tubing will push fit directly on the vacuum pump inlet/outlet with no mods or fittings required.
If you do a search in this forum you should come up with a few threads on DIY reactors.
