rewiring a 300w WON heater

I just realized the IC board in my 300w WON heater was cooked, literally. Since I'm using an Aqua Logic Temp controller anyway I was wondering if I could attach a plug directly to the element cord. Bypassing all the circuitry. Any thoughts?

The IC board may do more than on/off. Check with the manufacture and see if they be helpful in this issue, so that you won't kill the heating element if you hook it up with the AquaLogic controller.

I did the same. Just chopped off the IC board and have ac going straight to the element. I control the temperature through aquacontroller.
