what type of Silicone?

I used Silicone I rubber sealent, color white, on my sump for the baffles and such. It is the type for windows and doors. Is this the right kind to use or can it be hazardous to my tank?

If it got anti-fungal or anti mold chemical, it will not be good for anything. I feel it is the case for you. Good luck.

It will be labled as such.

I think the bath and kitched silicone's usually do have mold inhibitors. Door and window usually don't.

It should say on the label.

You want to use the ones that have 100% pure silicone. Easy to find in most home stores. Stay away from the kitchen and bath stuff.

What brand was it that you used? I've used the GE Type 1 Window & Door stuff many times with no problems.

It was the GE 100% silicone. I have picked it up from both Lowes and Home Depot.
