Anybody have a successful DIY check valve?
In my case I have a refuge return hose which is siphoning out water from the sump to the refuge. (there is a pump that is at the end of the hose and its unplugged because the natural siphoning works perfectly.)
One idea I had is to drill a hole into the refuge return hose; rubber cement another piece of hose into it, and hang the new hose in the sump above water. And the pump would now have to run in this case.
My guess is the new air line hose will allow into the return hose, and cut off the water going into the fuge if the power should go out.
Any DIY's or validation of my idea is much appreciated
