I have a black Oceanic stand that has a few spots where the finish has failed over the years due to salt and moisture. Does anyone have a process that I can use to refinish those spots or the entire stand?

Additionally, the tank is up and running on the stand. I would really prefer to refinish it without shutting the tank down, although I know this may not be possible.

I would only do some touch up painting on the stand if you can get away with it. If the stand has varnish you will have to break it down otherwise you risk killing the entire tank with varnish fumes.

Does anyone know how Oceanic finishes their factory stands? I'd like to mimic the finish and try just re-finishing the bad parts.

I have an older stand that I used water sealant on like Thompson's Water Seal. It matched up almost perfect, get a lighter shade than what you have, my stand ended up a bit darker than the original but now it's nice and uniform.
