DIY filter feeder diet supliments

Has anyone had any experience with creating your own food supliments for filter feeders. I currently only use DT's phyto and blended mysis and ghost shrimp.

Anybodyt tried on the vegitation side or experience growing your own phyto. The diet of concern is for sea apples as they are the pickiest of my collection but i also have christmas tree worms, various corals polyps and worms.

Any ideas?

My LFS just stopped carrying DT's because he does not sell enough before expiry he will order it for me so its not that bad, plus there online. However its more of a pain as i go through alot i want to investigate whats out there.

I will no doubt continue to use DT's for the most part as all my guests are doing well (Im not so willing to fix whats not broken just what to ses what the options are. May be slowly move to a morre self sustained diet.
