I was in Lowes yesterday to grab a whirlpool Reverse Osmosis undersink special.
$147.00, not too shabby, or at least the price they USED to be before GE Profile
nameplate crap came out and added another hundred to the same unit. ANYWAY,
I was surprised to find 10k Metal Halide lamps there in the lamp/bulb aisle. I say
surprised, cause back in the day (1999 or so), I was trying to rig up my own MH setup
cause I hate giving anybody an extra 100 for a custom manufactured product online.
Since then everything has become much more competitive online, so I would just buy one,
but not back then. Back then the only super-lamp the H.I. stores carried was mercury vapor,
and we all know what they look like. If I was not convinced I was going T5 on this trip,
I would have poked around on that other aisle for fixtures. Lots of different watt ranges.
