first diy skimmer

was bored today and threw together a skimmer with parts lying around the house.
by no means is this a final product, and i have very basic knolledge of how skimmers work

i used a 3g water jug. a rio1100 needlwheele to pump water in, a 500gph pond pump i had that i made a venturi for and thats it for now

Can you show us a diagram. I saw a lot of tubes!!! Most skimmer do not have that many. Is that the trick you pull so it works just like a commercial one if not better?

if i knew this was going to work i would have taken more pics.
i plan on putting a needwheel on the outside as a recirculating needle wheel, thats what the two hole's marked out to be cut in the pic above.

only problem is i probably wont be able to fit this monster near my tank

Jim, it looks like the top of the jug was cut off. Might be wrong, I see jagged edges around the circumferance of the jug.
