mod a euro reef skimmer

can i modify my old model euro reefs foam pipe to the new design.i have the older model with the one straight foam pipe.if i can can you give me a little instruction on how to do it

You can modified it and put on the gate value.

Check out this link on RC. It will tell you what things you need to buy and how to do it. It's pretty easy to do. You can also buy the kit from either Euro-Reef or one of the on-line places that sell Euro-Reef Skimmers. The kits costs $39.

the skimmer i bought has the same dimensions as the new rs 135 i am wondering if anyone has the same model as i do.and does this type of modification makes a big difference in performance.

No gain in performance. It helps fine tuning the skimmer, making it much more easier & precise.

You probably have the RS 6-2 or CS 6-2. The gate Value mod will let you control the type of skim better, wet or dry. You can dial in the skimmer better and it's definitely worth while to do.

I have an even older model, the ES 5-3, and the gate value made a big difference.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][/FONT]

can i use this same setup as the asm.also with the drain part do you make it so it goes in the water for quiet release of water,or does it sit above water line.
