I finally got my DIY Sump Fuge up and running. This was a drastic change in design from how I usually build them and was afraid it might not work. Well I'm happy to say it performs excellent. The only problem I have with it is water dripping off the "pass-through" tube to the fuge makes too much noise. I already have a plan to remedy this. For now I just have a piece of scrap acrylic propped up with some sponge sleeves to guide itdown without splashing.

The plumbing is a little nasty, but it's temporary as a new stand and tank are in the works and waiting.

The area on the right where the live rock is, is intended for my protein skimmer, but it does'nt fit under this stand so i'm storing extra LR in there for now.

Now I have to start neatening up my wiring!

Looks great man. I just have one question. I usually leave the top 3.5" in my sump empty in case of a power out my tank over flown water have a place to go. In your design it look like your sump is filled to the top. Will the water over flow out of your sump when you pump stops working?
