i needed a skimmer when i was cycling some rocks so made this little sucker..

How exactly did u make it?

i used alot of parts i had laying around...some pvc adapters for the neck.......collection cup was a regular cup with a cover i found at the 99 cent store...reaction chamber was a clear tube that holds baseball bats...for the return i used some pvc elbows and adapters connected to this adjustable 2-piece pvc i found in the electrical isle at HD...
i will get some pics up and some descriptions tonight
i did buy a rio 600+ with the rejuvinating venturi and mesh modded the impeller...

the camera probrably is more sensitive to the sounds....but i dont have any air silenser on the airline

now that it had a few days to break in.....the foam is oveflowing too much....so mostly water getting into the cup....i will probrably make the body taller....or make the neck taller....i used a unibit to make the holes on the body....its not completely sealed but its a tight fit/..

You can adjust the gray outlet pipe down which should lower the height of the water in the reaction chamber. Or, you could add a gate valve to the outlet to adjust the flow coming out which would also adjust the water level.

yea....i dropped the outlet all the way and its still overflowing....

but seems to have calmed down a bit.....
