A friend of mine just got a used AP600 from someone here on RC. The skimmer came cracked around one of the inputs but we managed to fix it. I use an H&S A150. While the skimmers are very similar in design the H&S has a wedge pipe to adjust the water level in the skimmer. How do you adjust it on this deltec?

The water level is adjusted by feeding it more or less water. You want the water line to be right at the bayonet fitting with the pump on but the air completely off. Once you get the water level right, open the air to 1 or 2 o'clock. Whichever gets the bubbles to break where you want them.

I am not I put this skimmer on a friends tank yesterda, and let me tell you I really don't know what the hype about Deltec is. This is the first I actually saw one not in a picture and they aren't built tough at all. For my self I would only go H&S all the way.

I have the same skimmer Deltec AP600, it took a little while to figure out the water level. I assume you already have a ball valve. I have it fed by a Maxi Jet 1200 and it's working just fine. I keep the water level about a half inch before the neck of the collection cup. After adjusting this, then you can turn on your air at 2 o'clock. I hope this helps.
