I was!, and while it was on it worked like a champ, sucks that the feed line somehow slipped off and it killed the anaerobic bacteria I had built up. It takes aboout 6-8 wks to cycle and then you just start incrementing from there on. I was getting a 0 nitrate readin at 12-15 drops per second, It takes time but IMO its a great REAL long term solution. I was thinking of restarting it again in my BB but I do big % WC anyways and have alot of flow, so I dont really need it anymore.
Charlie if you'd like its yours for $30 it can handle up too a 200G, its made from acrylic cylinder and has a slight cosmetic skew. LMK
Tunze has a new one.....should work. I used a Thiel Aqua Tech (15 years ago) passive type....worked after fiddling with it for quite some time. There are better solutions, IMO...like heavy skimming...
The passive spiral type would be super easy to build...jjust coiled 3/8" RO tubing in an air tight container...you need a flow restrrictor like a pinch valve. Someone still sells them, I believe...check internet.
