Okay so I saw a thread somewhere, where the guy induced bubbles into his display tank to stimulate sliming of his corals...I have been trying this for about a month now and yes the corals do slime, it does add oxygen to the main water column, it does look beautiful while it happens 3 times a day for 1 minute courtesy of my RK2... But it has changed something in my system.. My return pump which is a reeflo by sequence aka Dart has started to push water faster, my display water level can't be adjusted by the elbows on the drain pipes anymore..
My drains have just been replaced a week ago and the same thing happens... I have 4 1in drains on my system and my pump only does 3600GPH... I hooked a regular air pump to a air stone and rubberband it to a rock right under my return pumps intake in my sump...

Can you say "oxy-clean"lol
Here are some pics of how it is set up... Oh yeah and my newest piece of rock purpling up in my sump... 26"x4" arch that will be home to the top 5 acros in the new renovation of my display tank with my new rail system...

Thanks for looking people...

The non-inertial cavitation from the bubbles is scraping clean the insides of your piping. Cool idea. It could technically pit and damage the impeller on your return pump.

A thought...
Best thing to do would be add the air after the pump.

This why I used a smaller pump... I thought it might pit the impeller... I have since thought about adding more minutes to the cycle but now I think I'll keep it where it is...
Thanks for the big words, I will use them when converting this to an advanced reef thread LMAO...
