Are you sure you wont regret making room for a skimmer in the future maybe?
I plan to have a skimmer just not sure which one exactly. I might need a bigger sump now....:fishhit:
43 is nice and high! mines sitting at 41 for stand height, its going to be a little wierd for such a tall tank at first but its nice not to have to bend over so much.
Also, try to scale things and if you have to draw and place things out in 1:1 dimensions. Helps prevent the "crap it doesn't fit" when your finally setting things up after alot of work.

I am trying to fit 29 gallon into my stand, seems fine but the adding the skimmer and others, the sump seems a little small to fit all those, now i need a bigger sump maybe 40g breeder but then i won't have enough room to put the water mix bin, i'm trying to find space

Thanks Harry!!! I need more height so i can do water mix under the tank and with the flip of a switch, mix salt water can go straight into the sump
. Right now i mix water in one big and then have to pump to the sump and watch the pipe and offcourse the pipe fell out once or twice and you can imagine what happen. This will encourage me to do more often wate change
. No need to clean up mix bin and put away all those pump, heater and etc.
That is a nice Cube size... It seems like you are in the right track planning this set up and having Alan and steve as your adviser is for sure a great help...

samksy , just curious about the location of the tank. I am in the process of planning my own marineland tank preferably the 200 gal., however I plan on putting the tank in the basement. So the tank would have to come into the house through the basement side door which is down a flight of stairs and through the door which is 36" wide. what's your opinion.
By the way, why a 42" stand. also great start.
200g is awsome, i want that too but it's kind of too big for me to handle....lolz. Mine is on the first floor. I guess you can't go through the garage? The tank is going to be super heavy, i guess you need at least 6 people to go down the stair, make sure that's doable before you go out and grab the tank. Are you getting the stand too or build your own?
you might want to rethink having the float valve control the ro unit. even with a kill switch there have been lots of stories of overflows...
Oouch, hmmmm, not sure if I want to do that now, anyone have similar experience? :scratchch
How do you plan on getting a 42"x36"x36" stand through a standard doorway? I learned this the hard way when I built the stand for 92 bow. I ended up having to cut the stand into two pie wedges to get it into the basement.

Well, i was in your situation when i had the frame put togther half way and my wife somehow ask something or told me that it's too big to go through the hall way.....and i measured the doorway and hallway, shoot it didn't go through. I had to take out several screw and guess what, i'm building my stand in my living room where the tank is....i'm a little concern with the paint smell when it comes down to painting.:banghead:. I hope the paint smell won't kill me :banghead:.
what skimmer are planning on?
No idea yet. I'm trying to stay away from breckett skimmer, probably needle wheel.
