I have the following MH lighting system:

http://www.hellolights.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=252

Over the past year, salt buildup has accumulated on the glass lenses of the unit and "burned" onto them. It is so encrusted that I cannot scrape/wash it off.

Does anyone have any idea where I can 1. buy new pieces of glass for them, or 2. have some method for cleaning these that I am not currently aware of?

I don't know how bad yours is, but I changed all my bulbs this weekend. I used a fresh razor blade and some elbow grease, and all of the crusty salt build-up came off. My glass is crystal clear now. Give it a shot.

like russ stated, some vinegar does the job nicely. just soak it for a while in vinegar and hot water, come back after the water has cooled and use a razor blade. that should do the trick. If not you can obtain a piece of tempered glass with uv protection from certain glass shops.
