Well for those of you eager to drill your tanks, here it is. may not always work (always has for me though) so don't hold me liable for cracked tanks.
had to throw that in there, lol.

Here are the pictures of the tools you'll need, bit used and the finished holes....

sorry they're all together, i don't know how to post between the pics.

the holes are close to perfect circles. that big nut is the nut to the bulkhead.you set the nut flat against the glass and with a marker at an angle trace along the inside (this is the width the hole has to be for the bulkhead to fit).took about two to three minutes of drilling for each hole, with my friend leo pouring water over the drill site with air line tubing.

never used one before. aren't those bits alot more expensive than a tile cutting bit though ($7 for a tile cutting bit that will cut many many holes)??do you need to have a drill press to do it with the hole bit??how long does it take with the hole bit (took us 2-3 minutes for each saw with this bit)??

free handing the cut is nerve racking.
I got the diamond bit drills bits from here:

as for the drill press i used this baby:

I drill (3) holes in my 120gal in 15min. 3/8" glass.

But you did an excellent job on those holes.

i would becareful of drilling tank bottoms, they are usually tempered glass and you cannot drill it.

sure you can borrow it, the bit is for 1" bulk head. LMK

Peter

I was told that its wasn't tampered glass and 1" bulk is exactly what I wanted acutally.. :) I let you know when I need it.. thanks.
