I put together a DIY chiller earlier this summer using the first plan from Deanos's post. I would definitely recomend you build one too since it is was an easy project and it was very cheap (everything for $70).
Some tips i learned:
1) Use Teflon tape on all threaded joints (a must)
2) I would recomend using Toro's "Funnypipe" which is designed for sprinkler systems and can be found at home depots (call first). It is cheap, the joints are insanely tight, and it is thin hard plastic so the insulation is minimal making it easier for the fridge to cool the water.
3) I would use a 200gph pump or even power head. The slower flow will put less stress on the joints but more importantly will allow for more cooling and the lower wattage will minimize the extra heat in the tank.
Also you can pick up a cheap fridge on craigslist. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.
