update running 12 hours very very little heat coming off thease things all running smooth i think the 65 k are change more white after running i dont know if they need to burn in?
they might be getting too hot and burning brighter from what I read led's will use more power when they get hot and burn brighter but also burn out faster are you using buckpucks for power regulation? you would have been better off with a heat sink but looks good anyway just keep an eye on the temperature .

Yes, Leds have a tendency to draw more current with change in voltage. That is why they may look so bright espically if your runing a 24v power supply with 6 amps. Hopefully you are using some form of voltage regulation. I have come up with my own voltage regulation circuit using two transitors that has about a 90 percent effiency rating. If your intersted let me know It cost about 5 bucks to make and can be designed to handle up to 60 amps.

do they give you directions with the lights on how to wire them up? and do they come with some kind of mounting plate or do you have to use something on your own??

Been five months now. Any update? Are you still having success with your DIY LED 'fixture'? We never even got to see an updated pic with the LED's mounted in a cannibalized 'fixture'.

Would love to see pix of the coral now vs. then.
