I have a Koralia 1 in my tank that I have had to turn off bc my 2 little neon gobies like to hide out in there.

I couldnt find one last week and then noticed the tail stickin out in the back of the Koralia! I pulled the plug asap. The fish was ok but didnt want to leave. How can I fix the cover so that they cant get in but still allow water flow to my tank.

Any have any ideas?

You can try wrapping the pump in pond netting, the gaps are large enough to free flow water but small enough to keep the fish out. I'd say any LFS that has pond supplies should have it.

Did you recently buy it new? If you did it should have come with a concentrator and fish shield that covers the nose of the pump. It will direct the water more but at least the fish can't get in. Like qy7400 said, you can try pond netting as well. The only difficulty is that the netting will grow algae on it and will have to be removed to get the algae off.

Ok I have gotten some good suggestions from everyone I will let you know what works. darkdrako I have the fish shield on but these little neon gobies are small! I have to take a picture of them just hanging out in there with their heads sticking out. They can fit through the outermost hole.

How about a small piece of plastic gutter guard and glue it to the fish shield. That way you won't be able to see it. I don't know if the gutter guard holes are smaller than that outer ring. They are probably 1/4" x 1/4" holes.
