Bulkhead removal

Hello

Does anyone know the best way to remove a bulk head fom underneath a tank? The holes from my stand to fo which the bulk heads run through are difficult to get you hands or tools in.

It was hard enough to get them in. is there a tool or method someone can recommend?

There is a wrench specifically for bulkheads which is only a few inches long, after loosening it, you can unscrew the rest by hands.
If you got the bulkhead on, it should come off the same process

How were they put in? If you got them in you should be able to get them out....

Is taking the tank off the stand an option? you could just flip the tank over and take it off

I'm guessing the tank was empty, and off the stand when the bulkhead was installed. Now the tank is on the stand and full, so it's hard to get to.

There is a bulkhead installation tool that comes with one of the install kits for reef ready aquariums. It fits 3/4 on one side and 1 on the other. Not sure if it is allglass or perfecto. Try a good LFS they should be able to get you one.

The basin wrench comes in many sizes and works well to remove bulkhead fittings.

how did u make out?? i came into the same problem with my 225g..i made the holes in my stand only 3in.. not enough room to get in ther to tighten the nuts.. so i installed them upside down with the pvc already glued into the smooth half from underneath had my friend start the nut from the top and then i screwed it in while he held the nut.. worked well and should have no problem taking it out if needed..i hope!

a dab of crazy glue.let it dry remover 1 piece then remove crazy glue section.remember only a dab.i use this method if we have a nut stuck on a bolt.instead of crazy glue i tack weld the bolt then remove the nut.
